Spark by Hilton Louisville Airport

DO NOT STAY at this hotel! I booked this hotel back in October through my Hilton App for 3 nights. I thought it was a brand new hotel as it said they were accepting reservations starting 12/9 and my stay was booked for 12/12-12/15. Upon arrival I had a hard time finding the hotel because the sign in the parking lot said Sleep Inn. I had never stayed at Spark hotel but trust the Hilton Brand to have certain standards. The room was clean but very small. The staff was friendly but clearly not up to speed on being a Hilton. I notified the staff upon my arrival that I would be checking out after one night. They did not know how to handle that and had to call corporate to make sure we could check out early. Said I had to give 24 hours notice and I said I am giving you 24 hours notice that I am s

The rooms were clean enough. No drawers, though. No in room coffee maker, and the soap left a gritty film all over me. |I'd suggest going to the Thornton's next door, as the snack machine is only half stocked, and the only soda in the machine is diet coke. |The only thing this hotel has going for it is its proximity to the Kentucky Expo Center/Kentucky Kingdom(20 minute walk).

I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. There were no ceiling tiles in the hall, light fixtures were hanging down. Our room was not clean. The pictures on the website are not at all what the hotel looks like. The outside looks like gangs live there. The inside is not welcoming, nor homey like a hotel should be. We didn’t feel safe at all so we left and got a different room somewhere else. Not to mention we got there a little early and had to pay $20 in CASH to check in early. Not sure how this place is even in business anymore. When you call or go up to the front desk and ask for a manager they tell you they just left but there really isn’t even a manager. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place DO NOT stay here.

Here is the low down. I travel a ton- the rooms were nice enough and clean. The bathroom and shower were above average. ||The pool does not exist it is full of green sludge and spray painted signs line the fence. The ‘Hot’ breakfast is not an option. Two slices of bread in a zip lock, sausage links that I would estimate to be days old, the orange juice machine hose appeared dirty as I could see through it. It did have waffles and the waffle maker was clean. ||The ice machine beeped all 3 days. The staff was going to get it fixed- but nothing changed. ||Price, location, close to airport (4min), expo ( at a gate) Churchill Downs (5 min) football stadium (5 min). ||It would be a toss up if I stayed here again-

Adequate, but dated. Breakfast although, “free” was lackluster. No syrup for waffles. No butter. Juice machine broken the entire five days we were there. Only one handicapped room in whole hotel. Coffee was good. Sausage tasted funky. Ice machine on second floor broken. Just a bunch of little things. Queen beds VERY SMALL. Suspect they are full beds.
