Southington Motor Lodge

I thought I'd try this motor lodge as it would provide easy and quick access in/out of room. Looked half way decent and quaint from photos online. Arrived and check-in area was as big as small closet - couldn't close the door as I was standing there talking with the office staff. I requested to see the room before formally checking in and was given a key. The exterior maintenance of property poor. The room was no where as nice as rooms displayed on internet. The bed had only a thin mattress with very dated bedding - older small end tables, dresser and lamps. The bathroom was updated. The room appeared to be clean tho I didn't look too closely as I knew I would cancel my rez. As a solo woman traveler, I knew I would not have been comfortable staying there. I was able to book a k

Newly remodeled rooms everything clean and fresh. They are still working on the place, but overall it is definitely a nice stop on a long trip. Let's not forget the fridge and microwave in the room as well. This is not the Taj Mahal, but for the price you are getting your money's worth.

The building and surrounding grounds are pretty horrible. Don't let the smell and appearance of the office turn you away, however. The room was pretty good, showing signs of wear and tear, but included a kitchen. Bed was comfy. There's a plywood covered hole in the wall where an air conditioner used to be, a new hole elsewhere with a replacement air conditioner, and a thermostat on the wall. The hole-in-the-wall unit didn't work. The thermostat on the wall appeared to be for a separate system, and didn't work either. Setting the fan switch on the thermostat from Auto to On didn't seem to activate anything, lowering the temperature didn't do anything either. The room I had was a disaster, the bed was so uncomfortable, no desk no chair, broken doorknob, towels get changed and the bed once a week, one roll of toilet paper.toilet does not flush right. There is nothing relaxing about this place, poor cable, room was cold they refused to call and get fixed, and phone signal.The sink clogged it was cleared and filled up again the next day. the shower is gross the place is just dirty and there is no service, it's like you always bother them. There are better places to stay in Southington. Stay away from this dump.

We arrived there for a two night stay. We walked into a room and it was filthy. There was dirt all over the floor in the bathroom, something that my girlfriend thought looked like a tooth in the bathroom sink. Mold in the shower. Stains in the toilet. No toilet paper. Dirty towels. Used bed sheets. Carpets not vacuumed with drug paraphernalia under the bed. We went to the office and they gave us a new room. Compared to the other one it was better but not up to par. We cleaned up the new room and bathroom so we could stay in it. The rest of the stay went well until we went to leave. They checked the room and wouldn't give back my deposit because they said that I broke the front door latch. I told them when I arrived that it was hard to open and close and deadbolt was not working. They said
