Holiday Inn Cheshire - Southington by IHG

To start off, the staff at the check-in time was very polite and welcoming, check-in was smooth. The elevator reeked of weed smell throughout our stay and was very slow, probably because it is an old one but that was not a major issue with us, the smell was. The heating unit in the room wasn’t working when we first went in, we called the front desk they came and fixed it! We left the heat on for the room to get a little warm as it was really chilly out and the unit was taking a long time to reach the set temperature. We came back at night in our room and the heat wasn’t working again, it was after midnight so we didn’t bother calling front desk and tried to fix it ourselves! It wasn't the best stay anywhere, but the price was reasonable and the location is excellent for me. The beds are super comfortable and the room was overall quite clean and quiet (although I could hear some road noise it didn't interfere with my sleep). Staff was friendly. There was only one very dim ceiling light that worked in the bathroom (difficult to apply makeup with!) and no fan - the bathtub had a couple inches of water in it when I arrived, but it smelled "bleachy" so I just undid the plug and it drained fine - but the faucet dripped. I didn't complain because I couldn't hear it from the bedroom itself. The food was ok - we arrived in the restaurant about 7:45 - they close at 9. I’ll start with the Positives. Our room was very clean. Our bed was very comfortable. The maid that I spoke to in the morning was very sweet and always took care of our trash and towels. We were always the only ones in the swimming pool which was nice but also a bit strange. |Okay, so here we go for the Negatives. It took less than an hour of staying here before my husband and I both realized that prostitution occurs at this hotel. We both saw several things that immediately made us realize this. There is an ATM in this weird little lobby area that we kept seeing very questionable looking females come in and out of rooms and remove money out of. My husband saw a guy at the bar with a female and go up to a room and the next morning he saw that guy was with a different questionable looking f

Clean room, comfortable bed and great customer service. The restaurant also had tasty breakfast options. Pool area looked nice and clean. The fitness center is small, but looks well cared for. Perfect for our one night stay

The room was worth it for the price I paid. It was clean, the bathroom was clean as well, the front desk was helpful and friendly. And I only paid a little extra For the breakfast, it wasn’t A buffet style breakfast. It was cooked to order, and it was actually very, very good, the best breakfast I’ve had at a hotel thus far. There was a little confusion at first, but that was settled easily. I would definitely stay there again!
