Solaire Inn & Suites

This was hands down the worst expirience at a hotel I've ever had. Twice. TWICE, the smoke alarms went off in the middle of the night while my family was sleeping. At 2am, we were approached by the long haired front desk man who immediately started accusing us of doing something in the room. He made me open the door so he could come into the room where my young children were sleeping and continued to accuse us while sniffing and saying he didn't smell smoke, but insisted we were the cause of the smoke alarms going off. He then told us we couldn't use the heater for the rest of our stay and also told us that if the smoke alarm went off again, WE would have to leave! ANY respectable place would have apologized and moved us to a different room that didn't have faulty safety equipment. He did

That was a nice place. Fair priced and close to amenities. The motel is not new but was clean and confortable. The front desk man was very friendly and gave us good information about the rest of our trip going to Big Sur.

Its hard to find an inexpensive room while traveling. In this case, I just want clean, safe, fairly convenient location, clean bathroom and hot water. No bugs, blood, stains, mold, or crappy gross smells. Solaire provided me a surprisingly large room, king bed. Sheets clean, no bugs, stains or hair. Pillows fluffed and pillowcases clean. Room well tended. Coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge all in room, clean and working. Soap provided in bathroom, towels white, clean, smell good. Bathroom surprisingly large and nice! Vinyl floor. Truth be told, the room is well worth what I paid...more, actually. Its got road noise, but acceptable. Its Safe. Clean. Rooms easily accomodate two adults. Grounds are tidy. Tended. Nothing fancy. No fountains or tables, some road noise, the AC/Heater system

Basic but clean and safe place for a simple overnight stay. Maybe not the best choice for travel with kids who need activities onsite. Frienly front desk.
