Quality Inn & Suites by Choice Hotels - Santa Maria

I stayed 1 night at the Travelodge (11/28/25-11/29/25) due to the proximity of my work location. It was convenient in that aspect. I want to give a fair review as there were definitely more positives than negatives. Now for the positives: 1)Very clean, roomy, and well-kept rooms 2) Very friendly night manager/staff 3) Continental breakfast which included coffee, juice, waffles, fruit, and bakery items (muffins) The negatives: 1) Poor sleep due to rude ppl above me making loud banging noises and slamming their door. Of course, this is not management’s fault but this location can bring in some unwanted customers (hookers, etc). It was obvious to me that a lady was wearing heels as I kept hearing clacking sounds when she walked across the room at 2 am. I had to call night management twice du

This was a pleasant surprise. I was not sure about the location as driving around homeless people were camped out on the next block. Otherwise the facility is clean and well kept. The room was simple and had plenty of space. I was on the second floor so I had a nice view of the pool and courtyard. I really enjoyed the fact there is a bathroom window in the back. Withe the front window and/or door open a cool breeze brought fresh air into the room. So many hotel these days have the windows sealed and the AC does not being in fresh air. This is a problem with mini splits, no fresh air option. I found myself sitting in a comfy chair with my feet upon another chair just enjoying the evening air with the door open. A relaxing evening.

The best Travelodge so far! As good as La Quinta. Clean and well kept facility. In downtown area with restaurants near by. Staff was warm and welcoming. The only change I can think of is for included breakfast to be open later instead of closing at 9am.

Positive: Absolutely nothing Negative: Especially the front desk staff very rude & unprofessional

It took my husband an hour to check in. He said the man working the front desk was aggressive and condescending from the start and using an all paper system which may have lead to the delay. The room was very muggy because of the lack of a bathroom fan- the bathroom window can be opened, but on the first level that removes any sense of privacy. The coffee pot had the remains of old grounds in the top. The furniture was visibly stained- who knows with what. Food grease? Body fluids? I don't even want to think about it. It seems like it was renovated recently, but only evident by the residential style vanities in the bathroom (stained with hard water deposits and drawers filled with previous guest's DNA) and tile work in the shower and on the floor (floor was very dirty).
