Smart Stay Inn Lafayette

The worst experience I have ever had. We stayed here 2 years ago with no problems so we booked again for this year. We booked for 4 nights and it was over $300. When we arrived the rooms reeked of marijuana. We tried to give it a chance and looked at 3 different rooms. Each one was horrible. There were cigarette burns in the sheets, demonic writings on the door, the sheets were DISGUSTING, and the smell was horrid. We tried rooms on both sides of the building and the back side with all boarded up. We walked past a room with cans of duster and disgusting towels outside of it. We ended up not even staying and having to find somewhere else to stay around midnight. We requested a refund and were basically told oh well. We booked through booking.com so we contacted them. The rooms were not clean or sanitary. There was hair all over the floors and tub. Urine behind toilet. Infested with Roaches, we couldn’t leave food on the table. Towels and sheets were dirty and stained. Tub drain was clogged and the room smelled like strong tobacco. We stayed for one night as a last minute booking. The manager and housekeepers ignore our complaints. For $82, this was our first and last time staying. We’re never going back. From my understanding, the property was nice two years ago when they open up, now the management and housekeepers are letting it go down like other hotels similar that allows 10 people to live in a room for months. That’s how hotels become dirty and unsafe. It’s all about money and not safety and cleanliness!

Positive: Young man when checked in was pleasant Negative: No battery in smoke detector; vomit or dark spit dried on wall. In restroom there was fecal matter still on toilet seat. Some type opacity smeared on shower wall. Bathroom fan coated with thick dark stuck on dust. Pic were provided bed was clean

Everything about this place was awful. The location is right off the highway, which is nice, but it's located in a very bad part of town. That should have been our clue to keep driving, but it was late and were tired, so we gave it a chance. When we got out of the car, there was a stench of marijuana on the grounds, which intensified inside the room and was poorly covered up by housekeeping staff. The linens on the bed were ripped and stained with paw print marks. The hand towels were also stained, which staff attempted to hide by putting clean towels over top. Worst of all, we were just lying down to sleep for about 10 minutes before police sirens started blaring from the other side of the parking lot, followed by 5 handgun shots. Understandably, my husband and I were very uncomfortable
