Sleep Inn Wilson near I-95

The absolute worst hotel I have ever been in. We planned to stay at comfort suites with my daughters soccer team, it was fully booked so the lady I was speaking with about reservations suggested a sister hotel across the street, The Sleep Inn, well I agreed and booked. We arrived Friday night at 11:30 after driving 4.5 hours. Upon arrival and walking in the whole building smelled like someone was smoking blunts back to back. We had (2) 13 year old girls, and our 6 year old son with us, they should have never been around this! Also sketchy looking individuals “hanging around”. Upon going in the bathroom there was mold and mildew around the shower head. The room was not clean, ashes and looked like blunt paraphernalia on one of the beds. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I booked a non-smoking room, but the entire hallway and my room reeked of cigarette smoke, marijuana, and mold. It was so bad I was coughing all night from the air quality. When I reported it, the front desk told me they were sold out and had no clean rooms available. The next morning they still couldn’t move me until mid-afternoon, leaving me with nowhere to stay or keep my belongings. I checked out early because the room was literally unsafe to stay in. Even though I did not stay the second night, the hotel refused to approve a refund and pushed the blame onto Expedia. Expedia confirmed the hotel would not authorize anything — even though they likely rented the room out again after I checked out. The hotel takes no responsibil

I want to highlight the service of the person at the front desk who helped me — his warmth, respect, and willingness to help really deserve to be recognized. Staff should be trained to be like him. I’ve been a Sleep Inn customer for several years because I like their rooms, but you don’t always meet people as kind and professional as the gentleman at this last hotel.

One positive is that staff is polite. Door to bathroom was tearing apart making a loud popping noise each time opened. Weak soft points in floor where an obese person is likely to fall through. Mold and rust in the shower. Visible dust on all the fans. Indoor pool to cold to use. Tub to room so tall that most can not get into it easily. Tears and gaps in the rug. One of the chairs was visibly broken with a leg bent and ready to snap off. I did inform staff of several of the issues needing attention while there. Posted review on Google replied to by management. Management finds this all acceptable and does not plan to correct any of it!

Bathroom had plaster peeling off the wall, carpet extremely dirty dingy furniture old out dated. Overpriced for what was provided. Water pressure very low and not very hot(Luke warm). Have experienced better stays in past.
