Sleep Inn South Joplin

Quick overnight stop while traveling to Arizona. rhollo checked us in at the front desk and made our short stay welcoming and put us in a quiet room, which was clean but is showing some age. Enjoyed the coffee available all the time. Breakfast was average. Parking lot was well lit but not separated enough from fuel stations for a better safety feeling. I would say it’s average to above average for a $90 hotel, 3.3 to 3.5 ⭐️. It is connected to a huge truck stop but we could not hear any trucks. Also there are several food options next door and the hotel offers discounts to each of them. We ate at the Iron Skillet, which is now closed and being remodeled to the Black Bear Diner, food was good. Convenient to fuel up before hitting the road again. We were very satisfied with our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. We booked over the phone and the staff were able to get everything set for us even though my phone cut out as she was confirming details. Check in was smooth and quick. The hotel is conveniently located right off the highway so we were able to pull in rest and be on our way in the morning. The hotel was quiet. Never heard any trucks coming and going even though it was right by the truck stop. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. I wish we would have had a fridge and microwave in the room but we managed without them. There was a microwave in the breakfast area so we could have used that if needed. There also was only a shower in the rooms so if you need a tub that is something to consider. However the sho

Unfortunately we spent two nights here based on + reviews. You 10/10 people did you all get the right place?? There is no way! This place is not good. It's right in the middle of a truckers parking lot. Very very noisy. Everyone in the hotel seemed to have dogs. The place smelled like every room had had a dog in it. The shower was tiny with the sink outside. Although they use being "green" as reason to not replacing used towels for multi night stays they don't even bother to take out your trash or make your bed. We paid a good chunk of $ and really felt cheated. Sleep Inn South Joplin is terrible 😔.

Great small clean room, perfect for a single night stopover. Adjacent to a truck parking area, so a lot of truck traffic, but my room seemed quite. Zorra in the dining area kept it spotless and stocked for breakfast. Not much area for walking near the hotel.

Great experience. Very clean. Beds super comfortable. Breakfast bar had a great assortment... including biscuits & gravy, waffles, ham slices (that particular day), yogurt, cereal and a wide assortment of drinks.
