Sleep Inn Near Ft. Jackson

Fine place right off the highway for an overnight stay. Like this hotel over similar because room access is inside so safer. Fair price for a room but hotel could use some updating. Bed was comfortable, room felt clean but shower and ceiling need updating. TV remote did not work. Breakfast coffee was good and eating area clean. Service great and easy booking and check out.

We checked in late and the reception we received was not friendly and borderlined on being rude. The facility is in need of serious renovation. The headboard partially slipped off the wall. I think we were lucky it didn't fall off completely and land on us during our sleep. The safety latch was broken off our door. There was something wrong with the toilet. It was difficult to flush and made an awful noise when we did flush it. We are long time members of Choice Hotels and find the accomplishments fine. This was our worst experience. The price was fine so if you need something very economical this will meet that need. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. There aren't any vending machines. Snacks and drinks are available at the front desk. It is cash only to purchase these items.

This was a convenient location traveling around Columbia. The front desk staff was very friendly and personable. The room was clean but a bit dated. The seal on the window was broken, frosting the window so you can't see out. The toilet flush had a loud bang to it, very disruptive during the night. There are no support/pull-up bars near the toilet which is very low, not the newer higher ones. The staff only doors are all scraped up making them very ugly as you pass by in the hall. During our stay both the pool and fitness center were not accessable.

I had a good overall experience during my stay, with a few key highlights. First, I want to commend the check-in staff member who was incredibly friendly and informative. She made the process smooth, and I would rate her a perfect 10 out of 10! However, upon arrival, I discovered that my reservation had been canceled. The staff attempted to charge my card on file, but it didn’t go through. Despite this inconvenience, I appreciated their efforts to help me find an alternative, and ultimately, I was able to make a new reservation. Unfortunately, my experience took a turn when I interacted with the guest service agent on the second shift. I found him to be less than welcoming, and his demeanor felt unprofessional. Horrible hotel. The only thing good about this was location. Our bathroom door didnt shut, the front desk staff told me they could only switch me to a room that has a curtain as door which seemed like an even worse choice; there were rips in my blanket so I took pictures and show from desk just so I wouldn't be charged. They did offer to change rooms after I showed them the blanket, but I could deal with a ripped bedding and my main concern was i didnt want to be charged for a blanket and I didnt want a curtain as a bathroom door. Then I wake up at 5:45am and realize I have NO hot water in the shower, there was a tiny roach in the shower, and I have zero washcloths. Called front desk, no answer. I go down to front desk to see if there is another room I could just shower in before I leave f
