Sleep Inn Columbia

Great hotel overall (8.0/10). Stayed 3 nights in March. Very nice room, with new or at least near new carpet. Great to see a property investing in itself, too many these days are going to wooden flooring (not a fan). Everything worked as it should. Comfy bed. Shower is very good, and one where you can actually control the water pressure (generally with a bath/shower combo you can control the temperature whereas the pressure is one-size-fits-all). TV was very good, with scrolling TV guides and lots of channels. Staff were great, Tom at check-in was very friendly. Breakfast was good (for context I'm satisfied with a bowl of cereal or some toast). Parking was good. I would definitely stay again, as for the price paid ($58 total per night) the value for money is tough to beat.

The stay was lovely. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff, particularly Beth and Tiffany were warm and friendly. Beth was so helpful and welcoming. She clearly has a great deal of dedication to her job. I never once saw her that she was not in motion, cleaning, organizing or running about making sure the lobby, breakfast and other items were in good order and presented well. She is a very self motivated employee. She always made sure to check if I had everything needed to be comfortable throughout my 4 days.

Musty smell in entire hotel from front desk to & including the room. In dire need of a dehumidifier system, Room felt sticky & humid. The hot & cold in the shower was reverse, causing us to think there was no hot water at 1st,lol, smh. The 2 lines the red arrows are pointing at are not design but dirty streaks on the light.

Terrible Night’s Sleep – Disappointing and Unacceptable Conditions From the outside, this hotel more closely resembles an extended-stay motel than a standard hotel, which was my first concern. Unfortunately, that impression only worsened once inside. Portions of the downstairs lobby were dark and unwelcoming, not what you expect when arriving somewhere to rest for the night. The elevator and entire second floor had an overpowering smell of marijuana, which carried into the evening and made it difficult to relax or sleep. Once inside the room, I immediately began sneezing, likely due to poor air quality. A large section of the ceiling had visible mold or heavy dirt buildup, which is extremely concerning. My honest opinion, we paid about $75 abt a month back to book a room at this place to stay on Jan 2, 2026 for our 5-day road trip from Jersey City - Savannah GA and back. While it is a 2-star (or even a 1.5-star) place, the room was pretty neat and well maintained. Only issue that we had is that the bathroom was much smaller. If you don't expect too much at a place you want to rest, this place is great! On the other hand, the staff at the reception desk was great and friendly to talk to!
