Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel

This Sheraton is a real representative of the decline of the Sheraton brand. While Sheraton may still be a nice and well run hotel in Europe, the slow and steady slide in the US is nowhere better represented than the Tarrytown Sheraton. As a titanium SPG member it is all the more disheartening. The hotel lobby was replete with numerous groups wandering around in all manner of dress and undress. Pillows, pajamas, sweat pants. There were few parts of the hotel that did not REAK of marijuana (both being smoked and the putrid stench of those who are saturated with the smell of it). The "club level" and "club lounge" were on par with with the rest of the facility. Empty refrigerators, no snacks, picked clean and never refreshed. What in the 1950's is that pool? Have they touched it since it was built? That's the weirdest hotel pool I've ever seen. So small, so un-flattering. I called in advance to make sure the hot tub was working and was assured it was. Got down there and - it was closed off. Towels were hard to come by, the pool room and bathroom were freezing. Just really almost an insult to an otherwise seemingly lovely place.

I’ve stayed there many times. At first I loved it and then the years went on and it became worse. It needs a major upgrade. The most important issue I had was lack of security. One night I stayed someone entered my room without knocking (yes I didn’t have the security latch secure) I was changing and just opened the door and closed it when seeing someone was in the room. No acknowledgment. I gave them another chance and they gave me a free room. I entered my room and there were workers in the room. As a single woman I was very nervous and uncomfortable. They had no record of anyone supposedly working in the room. They were not apologetic at all.

We stayed at this hotel just this weekend for my nieces wedding at the Tappan Mansion. The staff here is AMAZING!! From the wonderful and accommodating front desk manager Jessica and her crew Vernon and Kamita to the manager Keith the entire staff at this Sheraton could not be more helpful and engaging. The rooms were clean and the all areas very comfortable. Our only issue was an elevator not working.....but let me tell you.....the entire staff made up for that being even a small inconvenience. They treated us like family!! Loved my stay here and would definitely recommend the Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel!
