Shady Glade Resort

I made a last minute decision to try and visit Caddo Lake for fall foliage photography. I spoke with the owner of Shady Glade and she was so helpful. She arranged a pontoon for sunset images and gave me directions for sunrise pics at nearby Saw Mill Pond. I stayed in "T3" which was clean and perfect for my needs. I would highly recommend Shady Glade. I did not eat my meals at Shady Glade because of my schedule.

The Lonestar cabin was the perfect blend of rustic charm and cozy comfort. Though just one room, it felt spacious enough for me and my husband and thoughtfully designed, with every detail making our stay easy and inviting. We left refreshed, grateful, and already planning our return to the Lonestar.”

This place is simple, clean & laid back. We only had one problem and that was with the key & the lock system. We had to finagle & work & jimmy & jiggle to get the door unlocked. We called the office for help--it was 6:05 p.m--getting dark--and we couldn't get anyone to answer our call. I left two messages for help. We continued to jiggle and work the door knob and finally it opened after about 20 minutes. I called the office back & told them we got it open but we expected a new key in the morning. They returned our call about 20 minutes later. They did bring us a new key the next morning and it worked. So, we weren't permanently scarred for life! Just inconvenienced in a strange place. This place is awesome. It has nice clean cabins, a cafe for breakfast and lunch, and a boat ramp with docks. What more could you ask for. We met the owners while we were there, they seem to be very nice people. In fact, everyone we met at Caddo was very friendly.

ZERO commication with the owners! 3 days later and I am still waiting on a phone call. We went on a fishing trip, no need to stay if I can not access the lake. Shady Glade put up cones and closed the boat ramp and gave us no notice and when I called to speak with the owners they would not call me back. We left a day early as there was no need for us to stay. To make matters worse. One of the owners Mark was withing 10 feet of us while we were contemplating what to do. Never acknowled us and he knew we were upset, but he never said a word. I guess I know now why we were the only ones staying there.
