Hodgepodge Cottages

My friend and our two boys spent the weekend at the Shipwreck. I wouldn’t describe myself as a terribly picky person, but we didn’t enjoy our trip as much as we hoped. I would not consider it lake view property. If you peek through the houses across the street, you are able to see glimpses of the lake. This was our first disappointment (perhaps we should have tried to find better images to confirm this). We did manage a trip to Johnson’s Marina to rent kayaks and the boys loved that. Be careful of all the fast moving boats coming in and out! The bed upstairs is VERY uncomfortable. It is old and really needs replaced. The linens have lost their elastic and don’t stay on the bed. Stayed in Garden Cottage #6 with my sisters for a weekend reunion of friends who grew up with cabins near Annie Glade Bluff. Hodge Podge Cottages were absolutely perfect for the setting. Garden Cottage #6 was perfect and only minutes from where we wanted to be! Breakfast at Shady Glade and lunch at Big Pines Lodge were as good now as they were back then. Reservations were easy online and Daphne's communication was fantastic.

Stayed at Hodgepodge for 5 days at Snug Harbor #3. Right on the water! Wonderful older place, takes you back to the good ole days. They have a boat dock, pier, grill and fire out all right there. Canoes and flat bottom boat, along with paddles and life jackets to boot. No extra charge! We had a wonderful time! Would recommend to anyone!

We stayed in the boat with a family of 4. It was close quarters but I had researched it and knew what to expect. If you're looking for frills and all the extras this is not for you, but if it's something different you want then this place is it. The kids enjoyed the upstairs where the ship wheel and radio etc were located. The area was nice, we walked around the little neighborhood. The only problem we had was the toilet wouldn't flush properly and we had to use the plunger almost every time so that wasn't fun...other than that it was a neat little place.

We had such a great and peaceful experience! The cottage was right on the water. This particular house was split up into two different units. We had the left side. It was still big enough for two of us. We had so much fun exploring Caddo Lake! It's absolutely beautiful!!!!! I really want to go back! The canoes are free to use! Nearby there is a small restaurant and a bar, which sometimes has karaoke and pool! We had so much fun!
