Sea Shell Motel

This motel is not child friendly in any way, and you should not stay if you have any health issues. The two motels room we booked were covered in mold and rust, we stayed one night and unfortunately the mold made it so I could not breathe due to my asthma, and my child’s asthma so we had to cut our trip short .The shower head was covered in mold and We couldn’t use the air conditioners due to them being covered in black mold as well. When I reached out to Expedia to get a refund do to having to leave because of the mold and rust I was told the property management denied it. I will be contacting the board of health in the area along with disputing with my credit card company since I have many pictures and videos for proof of the unsanitary conditions. I absolutely love this motel. I've been going there for about 20 years now. It definitely could be upgraded considering the price we pay. The rooms are cute but rust/mold has been spotted in several rooms over the past few years I've stayed there. I love that its pet friendly and there's kayaks. However I am a bit disappointed that the jacuzzi hasn't worked in years. My only other issue during my stay was the manager. She was very rude to me and another person who I didn't know I was just talking with them. She lied to us about charging us saying "If I get customer complaints then I dont get paid. Do you want an extra charge?" Were almost her exacr words, and being a customer for this long I know for a fact everyone pays in advance. She said we were extremely loud but I asked my roommate

!!!BEWARE OF BLACK MOLD!!! also beware of rusty nails sticking out of the walls. The owners will also lie to the travel insurance you purchased about the reason you left early telling them you left due to cloudy weather which is FALSE(never spoke to any owner or any worker about the weather) , the real reason we left is due to my wife and one of my children having asthma and the black mold making it hard for them to breath, making it so we will not get a refund. We will continue to make reviews and social media posts to warn others of the nasty motel, and hopefully the owners will do what’s right and process our refund for at least the night we left early.

This is our 4 th time staying at Sea Shell Motel! Hubby and I love it here! The staff are extremely friendly, the rooms are always kept up , clean, beds are comfortable and most importantly the place is dog friendly! Our dog Ben G feels right at home. We finally had the opportunity to utilize the canoe at no extra charge, we totally enjoyed the time spent on the water, we definitely can say that it’s one of our favorite places to stay for a weekend getaway!
