Sands Townhouses

VERY DIRTY BED’S. We booked room#8 for a weekend stay through Vrbo. We noticed the beds having stains and hairs all over them. Looked like the sheets weren’t washed since the last person stayed there. The shower was dirty with hairs on the ceiling and a moldy shower curtain. We decided we weren’t comfortable staying at all so contacted the host and they did respond quickly but only offered someone to clean it the next day which obviously didn’t help and the lack of concern showed that this wasn’t the first time someone complained. We went to a hotel instead of staying at all and asked to get money back because of that and they stopped communicating and left us paying over $1,000 for a dirty room we didn’t use. Every room is privately owned so not sure about the rest but #8 needs a better h

My suggestion is not to entertain staying in the townhouses. A Amtrak train goes pass the bedroom window several times in the night and blows its horn several times. The bedroom shakes as the train goes by. Dated from the 70's and very small. I can say it was clean but you can smell it when you walk in if you get my drift. Nothing sweet smelling about it. Baseboard heat that takes several hours to heat an area. It was 53 degrees when I walked in. Bathroom space is 3x7. When on the tiolet the sink cabinet is in your face. Watch bending over you don't hit your face on the sink. Used sponge in the sink to reuse. Steps to the upstairs are steep. Beds are hard and (3) 13 inch screen TVs total through the unit. The 2 beds upstairs are hard. Broken blind in bedroom that opens but doesn't close. T

Great location for beach access. It's across the street. The place is small. Good for 4 max. The kitchen is tiny. If you're looking for a quiet place, this is not it. Right on route 9 with passersbys, motorcycles, cars, etc. Noisy until about 11pm. Mornings are quiet. Now the train..... tracks are right behind this place. The conductor loves to sound the horn at 230am and again at 445am. Entire room shakes, lol. It's for a short time, but regardless. Still a nice place to get away.

We booked this Airbnb at 64 West Grand Ave in Old Orchard Beach because it looked adorable in the photos. Unfortunately, the reality was absolutely disgusting. After driving two hours, we arrived exhausted, only to pull back the sheets and find sand all over the bed. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the second bed had a used Q-tip in it, and you guessed it…more sand. It was beyond gross. We messaged the host right away, and their only response was asking if we “just wanted clean sheets.” That alone tells you everything you need to know. If the basics like clean bedding aren’t taken care of, I can’t even imagine what else was neglected. It’s really not that hard to clean sheets, or at least pretend like you care that your guests aren’t sleeping in someone else’s filth. After that message, the

Location is great for beach access, right across the street. Was convenient that the kitchen was stocked with items to use. And it was fairly clean for an old hotel. But...it.is.small! Says sleeps 6, ouch, it was tight. The kitchen/living room area is barely big enough to move around with more than a few people, that's the biggest downside. Oh no wait, the bed was. It was the squeakiest bed I've ever stayed in my life. Comfy, but don't ever move or your waking up the whole house, those could def be upgraded for sure. Checking in to the office was a bit confusing too, but the woman was very nice, and the staff came around often to empty trash and check in on things. Rooms only come with one parking spot so if you have more than one vehicle, be prepared to park kinda far and pay so
