Sandcastle Cove Condominium

My wife booked this on Hotels.com but when she arrived, could not find the resort, despite contacting numerous people in the area. The phone number listed by Hotels.com is not a real phone number. Hotels.com could not reach the resort. There is a phone listed online which does not work. Another phone in the Hotels.com confirmation lists the Comfort Inn for help during the stay, which ironically is where she spent the night. The desk staff there knew nothing of Sand Castle Cove. This is a completely fraudulent listing, and Hotels.com is pursuing a refund for me. Avoid disappointment and heartache, look elsewhere.

Our room was dirty, the beds were uncomfortable, and the room was infested with roaches, so I lived in constant fear that a roach was crawling on my face as I slept. Keep in mind we couldn't report this when we were living there otherwise we would have had to vacate from our vacation home for 72 hours. Info for if your room is infested with roaches too, clean all your dishes before you use them, even if they were clean in the drawer, try to keep all clean dishes in the dishwasher, if you have dirty dishes WASH THEM IMMEDIATELY! dont wait or it may attract roaches. Everything I expected and more! Was clean loved the coziness of the condo! Would definitely recommend this place for anyone! Quiet area excellent view. Front desk is located about 5 miles away however, no inconvenience. Only downside is the town seems to go to bed at 9 restaurants ect. Rec area very clean friendly staff went above and beyond to show us all the activities to do. About 45 minutes from the ocean. Loved our stay Would definitely stay here again!

Great location, kind of rundown. New Bern, NC is a quaint town with a lot of history. These condominiums are across the river from New Bern, but it’s a short drive. The condos are built around a lake with lots of tall pine trees. There are turtles and some huge fish swimming in it. Our unit was clean and had everything we needed for a week. The tv is about 32 inches and has something like satellite service. Our WiFi was a little spotty. Everything inside is pretty much from the 1980’s when they were built except the carpet has been replaced. The king bed was firm but squeaky when you got in or out of it. Our unit had a main bedroom with a private bathroom and separate hot tub room. There is also a loft with its own bathroom and a pullout couch. The couch was firm and you sank in

I found the long post to be excessively whiney, and wanted to write a more balanced review. Parts of the unit are a bit dated. But really, who cares? What matters most is functionality and cleanliness, both of which were fine. It doesn't matter of the cupboards and cabinets were dated. They all worked. Replacing functional cupboards and other items just to provide guests with the latest style is environmentally wasteful and unnecessary. The unit we stayed in was well maintained and clean. There were plenty of dishes and cooking utensils. The furniture was new and in great condition. The beds were nice and firm. There were plenty of nice, fluffy towels. Other items, like soap, shampoo, tissues etc. were plentiful, especially compared to other RCI exchanges we have been in, incl
