Sand Canyon National 9 Inn

Jan 1st, winter. The room was freezing when we walked in around 8 pm. The window heater we set to 86 but, the air did not come out very warm, but something was better than nothing. We had layer up our pants and hoodies to keep warm, I woke up around 1 am and the heater was finally producing heat. But not much for this time of year. When we woke up for the day, and went to use the bathroom sink and shower. There was no hot water coming from either. I understand the hotel is a cheap hotel, but we should have heat at hot water for a shower. I live off grid and have these things. The bedding smelled like, it had not been washed from a man sleeping here. No heat,no hot water. Do not stay here if you need these things. Or bring a space heater. And do not plan on a hot or even warm shower

Positive: Nothing Negative: When we walked in to the room, it was freezing. We turned oh a window unit heater which blew cool air. We had to layer up our clothing to be in the room and to sleep. The bedding smelled as if it had not been washed, No hot water at all. Horrible!

Dirty room, a/c not working. Holes in walls. Used to be nice in the 1980’s. Do not make the mistake we made by booking this hotel because it’s pet friendly. There are much better choices in Cortez. I’ve never seen such filthy carpet. Keep your shoes on!

Room was really nice especially after a 6hr ride from central AZ. It could use a touch of paint here or there and maybe a new shower head but otherwise I was extremely satisfied. And I know it sounds odd but those were the best pillows I have ever slept on…… I haven’t been able to find a hotel with pillows like that yet. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely kind and willing to help us with whatever we needed. He even moved his own car so we could park our motorcycles in a safe area right in front of our room. The room was pretty large which was also nice.

It was one of the worst hotel stay. Bed sheets were never changed had big yellow stains most likely from urine,microwave was dirty so do the toilet. police activity all night long didn’t let me sleep and so do the noisy neighbors who were changing the car wheels and working on their car.
