Royal Motor Inn

We were in desperate need of a cat-friendly motel during a cross country move, and the Royal Motor Inn was happy to accommodate! The room was clean and cozy, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked fantastic. A perfect, quiet place to spend the night after a long day of driving. The owner was incredibly kind and pleasant. We arrived at around 11:00 pm and she was quick to assist us with check-in, and told us that if we needed anything at all to simply call her at the front desk. I highly recommend this inn to anyone passing through La Grande!

This is the first motel/hotel I've ever been where I ran out of toilet paper because the motel only supplied less than a half a roll. I did notice spare rolls in the office when I was checking in. But it was 6 a.m. when I needed TP and the office was closed.||This motel is simply STINGY. There's no coffee or tea service in the rooms. There was no shampoo, just 3 tiny bars of soap. They Kleenex dispenser was empty. There were no cups. The towels were ancient and thin and the bathmat was stained. ||There's a single coffee pot in the office but when I left at 7:10 a.m. and peeked in the office, it appeared closed. ||Thankfully I'd been camping so I had both toilet paper and a gas camp cook stove in my car which I used in my room. My brother and I desperately needed a place to stay with our cat after a long drive from Vancouver. The Royal Motor Inn was the perfect place to spend the night! The room was clean and comfortable, the A/C worked great, and we received excellent care from the front desk. Highly recommend this inn for anyone stopping over in La Grande!

Great price & even better service. Got in after 10pm and Ruby was quick to get me sorted & to my room. Lights were wonky but I'm not living here long term so it wasn't a bother. What was awesome was that there was no parking near my room and Ruby was quick to offer to move her vehicle so that I could have parking near my room to unload all my stuff on my bike. Great customer service!

Honestly had a great stay here. We got in late, around 10:00, but the service was prompt, polite, and helpful. The room was clean and easy to access, and the mattress was very comfortable. Not to mention, quite reasonable rates.
