Royal Motel

This motel had exactly what I needed. Nice cozy rooms, warm shower, space to stretch out. Perfect for those solo adventures up north. The bed is comfy and the blankets and pillows are very comfortable and soft. I also love that I can park my vehicle right outside my room so unpacking and packing is easy and quick. This is my go to place when I'm in the area.

I was so lucky to have found this place! After a long day of driving, a cozy bed and some wifi were all I needed, and Royal Motel delivered. Check-in was simple and done via a real human in front of me, no kiosk. He was polite and friendly, and gladly took me and my shihtzu (+$20, totally fair for a lil dog) in for the night. Unpretentious and simple, I'd recommend this to any fellow bare-bones travelers who just need a warm place to lay their head and a functioning TV to doze off to before getting back on the road.

We enjoyed our stay in this 1960's built motel. Owner is super nice. Rooms were clean. Close to snowmobile trail.

We checked in and were greeted by a friendly person. ||We waited as he registered another person in. He said all his rooms are $99 except when you have a pet. A pet room is an additional $20 a night. The people agreed and were registered in. When my turn came he said it was $105 a night. I told him that his website said $99 and he said that was for a room with a double bed. Because I wanted a queen bed those rooms are $105. When I opened the door there was not a queen. There were two beds but one was a double and one was a single. Surely he knows the difference and what he has for inventory. The room was definitely a worn 1970’s original room but at least it was clean.
