Royal Inn

Was directed to Royal Inn from Best Inn. It was so disgusting I had a break down when I got into the room. It was covered in bugs. The bedsheets were covered in hair and dirt. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they said they could give me sheets to change them myself. Within 30 minutes of being there, I asked if I could get a refund for two of the three nights I was staying there, they said the best they could do was change my room. In three nights, I killed 15-20 bugs. Roaches crawled on my bed. Roaches crawled on me. I was gone for most of the day and was literally only in the room for sleeping and maybe an hour each day getting ready. The fact that I killed 15-20 bugs in that short period was disgusting. I've traveled all over this great nation and have stayed at many hotels and motels. However NONE have had the type of hospitality that the The Royal Inn Motel has. The quaint rooms come with cable TV, WIFI, microwave, refrigerator, nice drinking cups, large marble vanity sinks with huge mirrors, carpeting, King size bed, excellent heat/AC and above all pet-friendly. Due to Hurricane Sandy our home was trashed and we relocated to VA and landed in the beautiful city of Petersburg. Upon settling in we searched high and low for accommodations for my wife and I AND our 3 dogs. Finally we arrived at The Royal Inn and were graciously accepted without a hitch. The people who work there are first-rate. One time a got a flat and one of the staff took me to one of his spots where they had grea

My husband needed to get some rest before making it back to Florida so we stopped here. The place is really what you pay for and we only stayed for 4 hrs. Place definitely needs some updating otherwise clean but no towels or chairs just a table. All we really needed is somewhere to rest. Good place if you're on a budget but I would not take my kids here.

Stayed here last night. The room smelled of chemicals like it just got bugged bombed or massively sprayed down. Even the bedding smelled heavily of chemicals. After all of that my husband got bit by some bugs. Major swelling in his hand and other bite marks. End up taking him to the hospital today. This place isn't just poorly maintained. It's a legit medical hazard. If my home were in this condition it we would be kicked out by the health department and it could be condemned. I will be sending my complaint to the health department. I suggest others do the same.

It's a place to lay down your burdens with a good night's sleep. The people are very nice and it's a good place for night and weekly rates. They have large tubs that are great for a relaxing deep bath and offer cable with HBO. Decent prices, the best place to go in the area for the price.
