I had a positive 4-star experience here overall. The location was the standout feature of my stay, earning a solid 4-star rating for its convenience. While the service was dependable and met a standard 3-star level, the rooms were a bit more basic than expected. However, the property still served as a functional and reliable base for my trip.

Positive: The hotel had no parking. They charged me a extra cash deposit. The room was dirty and had roaches upon arrival. I was told they would clean it in the morning and that did not happen. This ended up leaving me with nowhere to stay. Negative: I hated the fact that I had to stay in a dirty room and no service at all. No proper rags. Stayed here for two nights this past weekend and it was a nice stay overall. Didn’t see any bugs or get any bites as other comments were saying, so maybe they fixed that issue. The whole building could use a deep clean and then keep up with it. There were burn holes in all the linen, the floors in the room wasn’t clean. You really just get the basics w this place, a room, a shower and a closet. I’d suggest bringing your own pillows, blankets and towels. For the price though, it really wasn’t that bad.

I booked from this place for 2 nights, 5/9/25- 5/11/25, I arrived around 2am. I was taken to my room, I immediately told the person I couldn’t sleep there, the sheets were nasty, the bathroom was nasty, dead roaches in the tub, live roaches, window broken, curtains nasty. I couldn’t believe my eyes, it was horrendous. I took pictures and sent them to booking, I have a new phone so I no longer have access to the photos. I couldn’t find anything else in the area so me and my Fiance stayed, we were given a new room, it was the same, the guy gave me brand new sheets, when I took the sheets off the bed I could’ve vomited to see all the stains on the mattress. My boyfriend and I give the Royal Bronx Hotel an overall 4 stars. We stayed on the 7th floor, and the location was perfect — just a 14-minute walk to the subway station. The immediate area was full of energy and city life, which is one of the reasons we love visiting New York. This is a budget-friendly hotel, and it met our expectations for exactly what we needed: a clean, simple place to rest our heads with no drama. We came across a few concerning reviews beforehand (mentions of pests, etc.), but our personal experience was smooth. No frills, but also no surprises — and that’s a win in our book.
