Rocky Ford Camp & Outfitters

We were not sure what to expect when we booked this outfitter. This was our first time visiting the Sandhills. The drive to the site was the reason the saying "off the beaten path" was created. Between the sand roads and the free range cows take your time and truly savor the gorgeous views of the river valley. The campsites are amazing. They are maintained, beautifully treed and are well spaced. While we could hear other chatter from campers it was simply background noise. We could also hear the Rocky Ford Rapids and wildlife. The owners of Rocky Ford were gracious hosts. They do all the heavy lifting to make your experience wonderful. We booked kayaks with them. The drop off was at Berry Bridge. We spent the better part of the day kayaking back to the camp. It was a beautiful

Great campsites, great tubes and kayaks. Had a blast and so worth coming down every year for this friend tradition of mine.

Just came back from a few day run on the river. They take great care of you at Rocky ford. The campsites were large and well maintained. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful with info, etc. they set you up nicely before launch and are always there on your way back. I’m looking forward to coming back!

My husband and I had a great experience from start to finish. Checked in for receipt and parking pass, hopped on bus 344 with a very nice driver. Us & cooler were delivered to Brewer Bridge drop. The lady staffers were lovely to us. Tubes and cooler tube were issued and we were promptly set off by 1030 easy. Entire float was A+. ( Do recommend a stick to push off banks) Rocky Ford's beach is mildly craggy but nothing as dramatic as previous reviews and the water is quick at their beach this year (7-22) so just have your head screwed on right. Also .. you are responsible for own portage!!!! Took 4 hours. Bring more sunscreen than you think you will need.

Third year camping and canoeing here and wouldn't go any where else. Always clean areas along with very friendly staff. We camp on the hill above the river, very scenic and love being able to hear the water all night long. Even if it storms while camping, you can't get mad as the atmosphere is wonderful.
