Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel

The breakfast/brunch was excellent! I’m sitting here now second day and the food is definitely good and a lot for the price. Hot and fresh. The customer service is fantastic. The shower had great pressure and nice size bathroom. The only thing I would say, the picture online didn’t match the main lobby. It was more gloomy in person, I think lighting would had made a difference. Right next door to the theatre, pizza shop and other walkable spots. I highly recommend if you are in the area, come in and grab breakfast/brunch. From someone who travels regularly.

Hotel was a wonderful stay for a first time experience in Pittsburgh. The location is right next to a few restaurants which is good for dining at night. The inside of the hotel is gorgeous, especially in the dining/lobby area. Staff is friendly and very helpful and overall the room was clean. They upgraded me to a room with a river front view which is very pretty at night. The host Judy in the Marriott Elite Lounge was super nice and welcoming whenever I walked in.||A few downsides of the hotel, which would not affect my decision in returning: some of the furniture in the room had a bit wear and tear. By far the worst "4 star" hotel I have ever stayed at. Housekeeping does a lazy job of cleaning the rooms. I remember leaving my hotel having run out of the toilet paper, and upon my return back to the room, the room was half cleaned and there was no toilet paper. How can you half clean a room, and notice there is no toilet paper and still leave it empty? Bizarre really. Also, while the food at the hotel restaurant is pretty good, the service is quite terrible. I recall sitting down and having to beg the waitress to bring me coffee--though everyone else was asked before hand if they wanted coffee. Also, my food was brought out to me, and they had given me so silverware. Am I a dog? Do they expect me to eat off the plate? I had to wait 5 minutes, until I had to demand for silverware. The se

The hotel is old, but in a good location. Views from our room were awesome. My wife and I rarely get a night away from the kids, so I splurged and used 50,000 points for a night away. I’m lifetime platinum elite and very loyal to the Marriott brand and I’ve traveled a lot over the last 17+ years. This Renaissance stay was the worse I’ve experienced in all my years of traveling. The HVAC in our room wasn’t working. No matter what temp I set the thermostat to, it was unimaginably warm. We were laying in bed sweating even with the thermostat set at 60. It completely ruined our trip. We couldn’t sleep and eventually packed up and checked out. I feel like I wasted my points and it surely wasn’t worth the points I used. As a loyal Marriott traveler, I’m so disappointed.
