Family House

Wonderful accommodations for patients of nearby hospitals and their caregivers, and even more wonderful staff. It is exceptional to have such a great place available when needed. Everything is clean and well maintained, and the energy is just so kind and positive.

We just stayed at the Family House for two nights- it was amazing! The building and hospitality exceeded our expectations! The rooms are very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. They have a stocked kitchen with bagels, coffee, etc available 24/7. There is a fitness room, games and Starbucks on site too. We are thankful we had the opportunity to stay there and will certainly stay there again. We had no issues with parking as we left our car at the VA and took their shuttle to the Family house. We recommend staying there.

Family House should be up for business of the year! The front desk staff were so nice and so helpful! The amenities are beyond amazing. Our room was perfect. If you have a family member in the hospital like we did for over a month (Allegheny)it is so nice to have this piece of mind that the Family House and staff give you! Great place to stay. They offer all kinds of benefits for families who have a family member in the hospital. They offer breakfast but you are also welcome to use the kitchen at anytime. They also do supper. Noone tells you but outside in the corner of the parking lot is a smoking area. Unfortunately there isn't any parking because it's downtown. But they will shuttle you or Uber for you. Thank y'all for letting us stay while my Dad was in ICU

We were provided the opportunity to stay at this hotel due to overcrowding in the Ronald McDonald house during a scheduled heart surgery at UPMC Childrens for my son. This was a completely paid for stay, which was supposed to be for at minimum 4 nights. When I first arrived, I was met with a laundry list of rules as well as an inconvenient parking situation. I quickly looked past both this minor issues since this was a free stay and relatively convenient to the hospital we were at. When i finally got to the room, I was floored by the state at which it was in. The room had two twin beds and filth everywhere. It was obvious that vacuuming had not been done and the carpets were dated, likely the original ones that were in the Courtyard Marriott before it closed. I peeled back every layer of t
