We stopped in Crescent City during our road trip and booked this motel last minute, as there were no Marriott options left. Even though all our other hotels on this trip were booked last minute too, this ended up being the most expensive stay by far – over $200 for a basic motel. Unfortunately, it felt like a poor value. The room had an unpleasant smell, the parking didn’t feel secure, and there were absolutely no amenities. For a motel that old and basic, unless you’re in a major city with a big event driving up demand, the price was unreasonable. Honestly, I would have rather stayed elsewhere or driven to another town. Still not a one star, with the area of improvement— that a small family business can do, keeping it clean, putting some gates, making parking secure, and may be some gar
The staff was very friendly. It’s a two-story motel set between the one-way streets of north and south bound 101. The room in the back are adjacent to the Taco Bell drive through so had a lot of traffic until they closed. The rooms are old but were clean. They had a micro/fridge and tub/shower. Nothing fancy but serviceable for a short stay.
This hotel was fine on a last-minute, emergency type of need for a place to stay. Carpet was dirty, furniture dated, and no where near anything you might want to see or do. DO NOT BOOK ONLINE! Even if it’s your last option, go there and book the room in person or you’re going to end up paying $200 a night for a pretty run down motel room with plenty of vacancy. They def take advantage of last minute bookings even though there is room.
It is certainly not a fancy hotel and I knew that going into it. It’s a bit pricey for what you get, though (maybe it’s just because it’s Labor Day weekend and everywhere is pricey right now). The showers have great water pressure. The kind woman working at the front desk was incredibly sweet and accommodating. It’s a short walk to Taco Bell. The bed is decently comfortable and the room is pretty clean. Only major complaint is the lack of A/C on a hot evening. Not really anything that can be done about that but maybe having the option for a fan in the window would be nice! I know getting 50+ fans for the hotel isn’t easy, but it sure would make the room much, much better. Sleeping when it’s hot in the room is very uncomfortable. It’s not really a great location to have the door or window o
I stayed July 2024, as a solo traveller on a road trip. I was driving from Reedsport, OR, to San Francisco, and needed somewhere to stop for the night. Motel is near the highway, so there is a small amount of truck noise, but my earplugs dealt with that. Bathroom fan didn't work, which I didn't notice until I was checking out. I had no other issues, and I would definitely stay again if I am back in the area.
