Gorgeous place to enjoy th he river. Had to pack stuff to camp sites down a hill.. so up on the way out but not terribly far. Maybe 100 yards
This is a large open gravel parking lot where you can disperse camp for free. Has a fault toilet. Can tent camp among the trees. Fires and outdoor stoves need a fire permit, which is free and can be obtained from the national forest headquarters. River is accessible for water fun and fishing.
Active bear area be warned ⚠️ Camping area as well beautiful views blue water from the Smith River one of the cleanest rivers around 👌 lots of mini waterfalls along the 🚗 drive
Cleant vault toilet and we'll stocked. 4 campsites with nice fire pits and level areas for tents...
SAND CAMP REDWOOD NATIONAL FOREST MAY 2025 What a delightful find! Free campsites with river access. Pit toilets. No Water, Power, Wifi, Cell, or trash services. Pack it in - Pack it out. Beautiful Smith River is gorgeous! Nice sandy beach. Water WAY too cold to get in yet (MAY).
