Red Roof Inn Petersburg – Fort Lee

Easy highway access. Quiet. Basic pricing, use 3rd party booking first for best price if after hours. Other shifts may have been able to price match, I don't know. The young man at the desk was knowledgeable and pleasant in the late hour. This is a spot I personally would use just to sleep while traveling therefore it was fine, just what I needed to rest and run. Dunkin Donuts within 2 ish miles for coffee etc.

I’m not one to right reviews, but this was one of the unsafest and grossest hotels I’ve ever seen. My family of 5 and two dogs checked in, and upon entering our room we noticed there was no molding on the floor or around the windows. The door looked like something tried to claw it open. My husband was able to walk right into our room WITHOUT using a key. The window was broken and you could basically stick a finger outside. The bathroom floor, sink, and mirror all appeared to never have been cleaned. There were splatters of something on the walls. One towel, no washcloths or hand towels, not that we would’ve used the shower anyway with the state of the room. Half of a roll of toilet paper and nothing else. Horrible stay. Staff came in our room unannounced at 530 am. And scared us. Lock on door was broken. Burn marks in our blanket. Room was moderately clean but old. AC had burn marks on them. Great location and quick to where we needed to go. But the overall appearance gives bates motel.

Positive: Nothing! Do Not stay here! There is bed bugs. Negative: Room is nasty dirty. The water is not hot and bathroom is so nasty you don't want to take shower and there is no shampoo

Our experience was very disappointing. The room was extremely dirty and did not meet even the most basic cleaning standards. The bathroom had no toilet paper, the towels were dirty, there were hairs everywhere, and the floor was dirty. Overall, it was clear that the room had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. This situation is unacceptable for a hotel.
