Red Roof Inn Doswell – Kings Dominion

Our goal was just to sleep overnight and get up fairly early in the morning. It was easily located off 95. The cheapest outside of Richmond. It was affordable, for two pets, four adults and a four year old. We just really needed to take a break from driving. The room was basic, not updated or anything but enough to stay for a night's sleep. The room was fairly clean. The bathroom was small but again, we were only there one night, so it was enough just to get ready and leave. Finally, the transaction was easy enough, no scams, frills, etc. we paid an extra $15 for our dogs.

Our family arrived for a two night stay to visit Kings Dominion. This motel is in the perfect location to go the the park. It is easy to get to and you could walk to the park if you really wanted to. It is next to a Days Inn and Mexican restaurant. |Although a small motel, it has all the basic amenities you could need (small fridge and microwave, coffee maker in room). It was dated but very clean. The staff were all helpful and polite to work with. They do offer a coffee and juice machine in the mornings. They also have ice dispensers available. Our stay was quiet, the AC worked well, and we would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Positive: Refrigerator and microwave, close proximity and great location to the amusement park Negative: Bathtub ring, toilet handle had some type of white covering on it (don't know what it was), floor was filthy (had a spill, used paper towels and it was BLACK after wiping the floor)! air conditioner old/extremely noisy, although it worked great

Stayed one night during our roadtrip. Room is clean yet there were footprints in the bathroom floor when we checked in. And the soap dispenser leaked and leave big marks on the sink counter. Aside from that we love the whole stay. 50 inch TV, single sofa and comfy bed. Heater works and there's hot water from the sink too. Quiet place. There's kid's playground and tennis field but we went during the winter so its covered in snow.

I had a great experience! Stayed there from 10/17 to 10/20! They allowed late check out and my german shepherd dog, no extra pet fees before, during or after my stay! Both the man and woman that worked up front were nice, quick and helpful. The housekeeper was a very nice girl as well. The location for kings dominion and easy interstate access is AWESOME. The rooms were basic, decent and clean. Mexican restaurant on the property is delicious, fun and well priced. Sooooooo pet friendly and had a juice and coffee bar for free every morning. I couldnt be happier and I will be back! :)
