Positive: Location Negative: Yes. The hotel is in very bad condition (although they are renovating currently) the tiles in our bathroom were broken and coming up. The hairdryer in our room shot out flames and smoke! The beds are extremely uncomfortable.

My family (total of 5 with two German Shepherds) just left after a two night stay. From the booking, communication with the front desk and through Priceline (where we booked) was excellent! Very safe area. We stayed in room 227 and it was perfect for us, lots of space and we were pleasantly surprised that the beds were bigger than in the add! Extremely clean, well stocked (we were surprised to see Dove hand soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner), mini fridge and microwave, two TVs with awesome quality (and yes, they both had remotes) although the heaters seemed to blow cool air our rooms were perfect temperatures. Are you a vampire? This may be the hotel for you. They apparently have decided that lighting in the rooms is not a priority neither is accommodating their guests. Let's start with the good- beds super comfy and rooms were clean. Location is great- I come for dog shows at Doswell several times a year. Blessing and a curse as I feel that they have no incentive to make improvements because they are across the street from Kings Dominion. Don't expect a mini fridge or microwave in the room- despite that being the norm at most every hotel at this price point. Breakfast is abysmal- not restocked- poor selection and the woman who used to care is gone. The staff that is there now seems dejected. The room we got was spacious and bathrooms were clean. Rest of the experience wasn’t good. Hot water was not available at 3 pm when we checked in. It was one of the coldest days of the year with frigid winds and outside temperature in the teens. We didn’t get the room with two beds, but were told the sofa bed could be used for our teenage son. When we got back to the room late that evening, we found the sofa bed had no mattress. Usually every place I’ve seen has a thin mattress. Plus there was pet hair all over the mattress. We were just given a sheet and a comforter. Not even extra pillows. Called the front desk and the person said that’s how the hotel is set up. They don’t offer mattress on sofa beds. So please beware … it’s got springs and metal poles… and not going to be a comfortable
