Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Nags Head Oceanfront

I’ve stayed here in early January a couple of years in a row now. The place is great. Friendly staff and good facilities. Best location on the banks this time of year. A special mention goes to Christy who was kind and calm and helped me find a solution when we forgot to book a handicapped accessible room for my father in law who is 88 and needs that type of room to shower safely. In a perfect world my pet friendly room would be on the top floor with a view but even at ground level this place is great.

Positive: Pleasantly surprised. Hotel staff constantly cleaning. Quiet rooms. Convenient access to the beach. Negative: Not really. Would have been nice to have ice maker on 1st floor just for convenience. Restaurant was a little pricey but there was a great alternative close by (Jolly Roger's for breakfast).

Booked an oceanfront king room for an impromptu stay. My room was clean and comfortable, the view was beautiful and staff was outstanding. The Tiki Hut by the pool was a major plus as well. Great food, drinks and service. The ocean views from the tiki and pool side deck along with the ease of beach access made the trip one to remember. I will definitely be returning to this location.

I had one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered at this hotel. Due to the severe snowstorm swept through the whole east coast, the hotel manager initially agreed to cancel my non-refundable reservation—which was both reasonable and appreciated given the weather emergency. However, the general manager later stepped in and refused to honor that agreement. The response was not only abrupt but shockingly lacking in empathy. I was told they “didn’t even allow cancellations during COVID,” as if that justified refusing basic understanding during a dangerous travel situation. This level of rigidity during unsafe weather conditions felt ruthless and completely inhuman. Instead of prioritizing guest safety or honoring the commitment made by their own staff, the

It was fast and easy to check in. Housekeeping checked every day to see if we needed anything, so that was appreciated. The pool was nicely heated. The food I ordered from take out at the hotel was very tasty. We did miss having Beachcombers open so we could have had a few drinks while not leaving the hotel, but it is the off-season so it is understandable, and we were glad to be able to at least order food. The whole hotel smells and looks very clean. Overall another great experience at this Ramada!
