Shutters On the Banks

We spent two nights the day after Christmas and had a really nice visit. Very clean room with comfortable beds and accommodations. The shower had great water pressure . This is a pet peeve of mine especially after staying at Air B&B The private beach access was wonderful. Breakfast was plentiful and amazing. Great central location. The only downside is late check in 4:00 pm. They have a heated indoor pool and hot tub we did not have time to use. We plan to stay again ! Happy Customers Tim & Robin Adams

I booked through a 3rd party and when I arrived, they had given away my king room w/sofa bed and balcony/patio. They didn't tell me, but gave me a key to a double queen room without a balcony/patio. When I saw the room and notified the manager of the error, she said they didn't have any kings left nor any ocean view queens. When I asked about a discount, she said to take it up with my 3rd party and she couldn't do anything but I could cancel if I wanted. I kept the room since everything around was booked for Labor Day weekend. I called my 3rd party, who called the manager and only then would she offer a 10% discount (she should have already offered that since the room was a much lower quality and inexpensive room than what I paid for). My wife and I went to the Outer Banks for a day and a half adventure that involved needing a hotel room. I chose shutters based on being located near one of the music venues we would be visiting. We are both free pleased with our stay.It was of course in the winter and off-season so we didn’t have any crowds anywhere which was perfect for us.   It was everything we needed and expected and nothing we didn’t need. It was perfect.

We had a wonderful stay at Shutters on the Banks, even though the weather wasn’t ideal. The hotel is perfectly located right on the beach, protected by a dune. If you want an ocean view, be sure to book a room on the 3rd or 4th floor — those are labeled as “ocean view” on the reservation site. It’s just a few steps over the dune to the sand and surf. Our room was spacious, spotless, with a balcony overlooking the ocean, and equipped with modern amenities. Housekeeping came by daily, and the entire property felt very well maintained. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with something for everyone: fresh fruit, waffles, instant oatmeal, hot eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, bagels, bread, yogurt, milk, juices, coffee, tea, etc. The h

Decent place, good location but is definitely a little dated. I was disappointed they do not have private balconies or an elevator at least in the building I was in. Also, I was not impressed with the breakfast, I was expecting more based on other reviews. Staff were nice and attentive. I was staying there for a wedding and there was a Nor’easter the entire weekend (not the hotels fault).
