Ramada by Wyndham North Platte & Sandhills Convention Ctr

Nice place! Great breakfast! Upon arriving we thought we'd have to wait forever, as there was a school group also checking in, but they didn't stay in line. We were called up within 5 minutes! The rooms were great, the beds were comfortable. For a one-night stay, we were well pleased. We were headed north for a wedding.

I stayed a few nights here, the rooms were very nice and more importantly warm in the -15 degree weather. The complimentary breakfast is simple but made well with good ingredients. The bar that's attached has very good pizza that's definitely worth a try. There's also a starbucks right next to the hotel if you want to grab something fancy.

Clean The outside entrance to your room is creepy. In the rooms there's up to date furniture. But the flooring is all wood-slat-vinal so not cozy for bear feet. The main entrance is impressive but the weird outdoor entrance to your rooms is peeling paint and creepy. No hot tub. The shower takes at least 10 minutes to heat up. The only way I found out it actually got hot was I left it on while I went to do something else and to my surprise it was more than 100° when I returned. It is fine on a budget but sincerely don't recommend going solo

Positive: The desk clerk was friendly and knowledgeable. Negative: This hotel is being renovated with much work yet to be done. Fitness room had a bucket for what appeared to be a leaky roof and the fitness equipment needed to be replaced. While I always appreciate a free breakfast, I would rate 4

This hotel had a few bad reviews but we had a good experience. Friendly front desk staff, easy checking. Rooms were nice and clean, air conditioning worked well (it was 90 degrees outside), pool area was nice and the lounge was great. Cold beer and the pizza was excellent. Breakfast was decent and the food was hot. Breakfast area was clean. It is not the lap luxury. It’s a very old property. But overall for the price as we were just passing through town, I don’t have anything negative to say. I own a travel agency so I’ve seen a lot of hotel properties over my lifetime.
