Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Platte, an IHG Hotel

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in North Platte, Nebraska, and had a really great experience. The two ladies at the front desk who checked us in were wonderful. They were friendly, helpful, and even recommended Penny’s Diner for supper, which turned out to be a fantastic suggestion. It’s always nice when you’re greeted by people who genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. The hotel itself was very clean and even smelled clean when we walked in, which I always notice right away. The beds were extremely comfortable, and we slept great. They offer a hot breakfast in the morning, plus there’s a coffee station and a separate hot water station for tea, which I appreciated. Friendly front desk staff member gave us an excellent rate after we realized we had mistakenly made reservations under a government discount. ||Our top floor freeway-facing room was modern, with the best ambient lighting I’ve had at any hotel. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Got an excellent night sleep because it was quiet. ||Someone in another review mentioned freeway noise. I thought the windows really blocked out any noise. But if you are really sensitive, there is a “constant fan”option on the air conditioner unit.||The breakfast was the most extensive that I have seen at any mud-point hotel that I’ve ever stayed at. Family member is still raving about the crispy bacon. Very friendly breakfast staff.||We will definitely be staying here again on our travels to Colorado.

Aight, not gonna lie, I forgot that I didn't cancel my room here until the day of check in. My sister and I were driving across the country, and checked in after exactly 24 hours of straight driving. So it's 3am in North Platte at this point. The two front desk employees working were superb! We were very happy that the hot tub and pool were open 24 hours, as a soak in a hot tub felt necessary after being on the road so long. We got a few hours of sleep, thoroughly enjoyed the free breakfast, and headed out. I gotta say, the breakfast at this Holiday Inn Express is far more expansive than some other Holiday Inn Express locations. The morning front desk staff weren't as friendly as the night audit shift, but that's the only negative thing I can say about this place.

Traveling through this is a winner. Rooms are smaller but do the job (king plus pullout) pool was great for the kids and the breakfast exceeded expectations. Oatmeal cinnamon rolls coffee bar with decaf option bacon biscuits and gravy non dairy milk options omelette etc . Plenty of options and prompt refills even with a few high school teams staying with us . Will be back when needing a stop near NP. Bonus the gal working breakfast was very sweet to our kids. Better than the last hotel we stayed at here by a long shot.
