The post about the gate being locked and a disaster is fiction. This is a fantastic place. I live close by, and I'm there all the time, day, night, on/off season. And no one would lie to anyone about anything to do with it on the phone... read all the reviews and make your own determination.

Lovely little lakeside campground in rural Nebraska. I only stopped for a night on a road trip, but there were lots of happy campers enjoying the water!
Didn't see online about car permits. Thought I could pay 14 for a tent site. Found electric only, 30 plus 14 for out of state car pass. $44. Total. A little expensive.
Attended Carp-O-Rama, an annual event put on by the Game and Parks. The kids had a blast catching fish!
