Ramada by Wyndham Indiana

We were drawn to this hotel because of the Wyndham name and we’ve always stayed at 3+ star hotels for obvious reasons. I would say this hotel BARELY makes the cut for a 3 star rating. It took quite a while to find someone to check us in during the evening. There’s no handicap access to the upper floors. No elevator. Hallway rugs, walls, and windows were filthy and looked run down. The room quality looks nothing like the photos. The room smelled musty and didn’t appear to have been thoroughly cleaned. The furniture was dusty and looked as though it hasn’t been wiped down in quite a while. The ceiling of the bathroom appeared to have mold or mildew buildup. The only plus was we found no bugs. This isn't the newest hotel in Indiania, but it is a decent night's stay at a decent price. Even though nothing stands out as amazing, and it certainly could use some TLC, it's not in bad shape for an older property. It's convenient to IUP (we were visiting), our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, when we were there, the pool was closed for painting, but the pool area and courtyard in general is a nice area and clean. |A few things to consider:|1. Breakfast isn't free. They do charge a fee for breakfast and while we skipped it this time, I've had their breakfast in the past. It wasn't anything spectacular and I've had some "included" breakfasts that were nicer. Honestly, most of the time we don't eat breakfast anyway, so bringing along my preferred yogurt was just

Positive: Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Negative: Weird set up, like it used to be an outdoor motel and someone put a building over it. All the AC units put the hot and humid air into the courtyard making it more stuffy in the pool area than it was outside. Room smelled like gasoline.

Cons:I didn't get the room originally requested. I got an older room. I could see if there was a price difference but it's not. I got 2 beds. The one bed was broken and wobbled with every movement. It was ducted tapped from a previous incident. No conditioner, the bathroom smelled weird and there was sauce or something going down the back of the bathroom door. The vanity light for the sink had a bulb out. The desk lamp didn't work, even a button came off the second it was pushed. I was on my knees on the floor for less than 30 seconds and my pants were wet..like the carpeting is damp. Pro: bed was comfy, sheets seemed clean, TV worked.

An $8 breakfast buffet every morning was worth the value and it was also different items every time! The bar and staff were very friendly! The front desk help always greeted you with a friendly smile!
