Quality Inn Van Horn

I would give a 3.5 ⭐ but unfortunately not an option. First came in to check in today 12/30/25 at 0130 am and when I walked in did not see a front desk clerk. Instead to my surprise, first time ever from traveling all over I had to check in through a machine that had Victor over the monitor who greeted me, kinda of like a zoom conference. From there Victor assisted me with the checking in process. He was able to negotiate with me on the price of the room cause, personally I would not stay for $140 a night at a motel. No offense. The process was easy. Went upstairs, keep in mind it's cold outside in the 30's with heavy wind and my room key did not work to one of my rooms. We stayed at Quality Inn for 1 night on road trip. The reason I selected it was due to it advertising a swimming pool - unfortunately when we arrived it was drained and looked like it had been that way for sometime.|Positives: comfortable bed. AC worked well and shower powerful and hot.|Negatives: no pool. Several dead beetles in bedroom. Hair conditioner in room empty. AC loud but to be fair it drained out traffic /train noise from outside so that was preferable. Receptionist on check in not very friendly (ones in morning a lot better)|Although check out was 11 breakfast stopped at 9.30. Breakfast was ok - no fresh orange juice or fruit

This hotel is much improved since I last stayed there years ago. Breakfast was good, check-in was OK, room was in reasonable condition, HVAC was nice, worked well and was quiet, staff was friendly and professional. I will consider staying here again the next time I pass through.

Gabriel checked us in and he was great! We needed a last minute hotel room for 3 on a road trip, and he immediately got us hooked up with a room that had a working hair dryer, mini fridge, tv, and microwave. It wasn't the ritz, but it was a great little room on a great little budget. It's simple but will meet your needs without obliterating your travel budget

Front desk is through of a computer. Our bathroom wasn't working, our phone in our bedroom wasn't working as well when we tried to contact and report the issue. We had to go back to the front desk and reported, it was cold and windy and you need to walk outside to get to the front desk from the bedrooms. They gave us another room, it was better but the toilet was dirty 🥴. So our tip for the people who is in charge of the cleaning was lower this time😔 because our bedroom smelled awful. With kids and tired this is not a good hotel to spend the night. Breakfast is ok, but is not too much options.
