Quality Inn & Suites Athens University Area

I am very pleased with my stay here! The lady working the front desk is extremely sweet and accommodating. I had to arrive a day later than expected and she made sure my reservation was not cancelled. When I did arrive, I accidentally locked my room key in my room and she set up a spare with zero complaints and a smile. She really epitomizes customer service, and she was such a joy to be around. It’s so rare to interact with people who are not only got at their job, but seem happy to be there. The beds are super comfy and the room was very clean! The fridge and microwave are nice touches too, for what appears to be a budget hotel. My only issue was that there was some dried pee on the floor very close to the toilet. I can see how it got missed, but it still grossed me out. The location is

The rooms are on 2 floors, all facing outside. Smallest breakfast room I've ever seen. There was seating for only 14 people. No hot dishes, but a couple of types of breakfast sandwiches in refrig to heat up (does that quality as the "hot breakfast" mentioned twice on their website?). There was some fresh fruit.||Their fitness room has 4 pieces of equipment and lots of free weights. To access it, you'll need a special key (NOT your room key) available at the front desk.||We had a room with 2 double beds. They were comfortable. No dresser or anything with drawers for your things. Only 2 "cubby holes" for storage.||The bathroom was small and cramped. The shower was the worst ever. The tub was slippery. I slipped twice. Had to hold onto the grab bar the whole time. The room was not clean to my satisfaction; it looked like someone had been laying on the bed and left the TV on. The room had a foul smell. They refused to give me a refund or even a partial one. I DID NOT stay here. I was in and out. The front desk clerked lied about how long I was there. Plus they checked me out the next morning; to ensure I would not get my refund. I have used this hotel several times in the past. I will NEVER use choice hotels again.

I booked this room last minute for a conference and the conference center was sold out. To be honest I chose it based on price, it was the cheapest for hotels I was willing to stay in. It seems like all the Quality Inns have remodeled and are pretty good. The room was very clean, quiet and the breakfast was much better than I would have ever expected. Ill definitely put this hotel at the top of my list next time in Athens.

Clean rooms but WiFi is absolutely terrible. All I smelled was weed the whole time in my room from next door people smoking in their bathroom with the vent. Customer service is nice and the beds are comfy, but seems to be no strictness around here. Showers is nice. Just would never stay at this specific hotel again. Ever.
