Quality Inn Elizabeth City near University

My first interaction was with a very nice young lady who understood how exhausted I was without me saying a word and she helped me get checked in, parked in the best place and in my room in record time. It was also close to or after midnight. My room was clean and professionally maintained. I had been traveling and staying in hotels within that price range for several days. This one made me feel the best about the money I spent.

I had a room booked with a king bed plus a roll away as described on the app. The room was extremely small and I could not see how it fit the extra bed. I informed the desk clerk who was extremely rude. She informed me that there would be an additional charge of $66:00. We were then given a room in the very back of the property where it appeared the residential guest were located. In addition, it sounded like a woman was being assaulted in a room nearby. We immediately reported it to the front desk and they intervened. I have NEVER been so discussed with a Choice property and feel we were financially manipulated and not treated as long-term loyal Choice members. AVOID THIS PROPERTY!!!!

Horrible. We stayed here during Hurricane Erin having been evacuated from the Outer Banks. The only thing good was the lobby was nice and the front desk person (I'm sorry I don't remember her name) was friendly and helpful. The room floors seemed to be fairly clean but there was mold in some corners and on the ceiling of the room. I did not see any bugs. The air conditioner was somewhat working, the room was not hot but it was too cold and damp. Yes, there seemed to be people hanging around a lot. One night there was LOUD music in the parking lot for several hours. We took a walk around the place when we first got there and I was a little disturbed to see a shrine outside one of the doors! The room was neat. However, roaches in room. Room smelled stale like mildew. Woke up to no power /hot water. The telephone in room was inoperable. No double occupancy beds on first level. The motel needs a major overhaul.
