Comfort Inn Elizabeth City near University

Walked in and was immediately greeted with the overwhelming smell of pot. All night it sifted through our vents. So much for that 250.00 smoking fee. Everyone in that place was high, front desk included. Morning time was chill. Clean area. Most of the smell was gone. Breakfast area was clean and decent. Pool view was disgusting. I sure hope they drain that water before summer.

This hotel is very average. We arrived and turned on the water in the room and it smelled horrible, like raw sewage. Fortunately it went away. Bed was average. The air conditioning unit was being leaked on from the floor above, making noise all night. Really unacceptable. Breakfast was good, person taking care of the food area was very nice. However, a front desk employee, a blond woman, came over to the breakfast area to fill her own coffee mug and when she saw me looking at her, she shot me a nasty look. She also did the same to my brother when he walked by. Again, unacceptable behavior. I would definitely not return to this hotel.

The elevator was not working. And apparently has not been working for a couple of weeks . I read previous reviews and the elevator not functioning properly has been an ongoing issue. The room itself was clean, but there were odd smells outside in the hallway, not like illegal smells.

My boyfriend and I booked at another hotel and was not satisfied. We was able to get a room here and it was amazing. The front desk was great and checking in and out was with ease. Also, they provided delicious cookies to us when we first arrived. Will definitely be saying here again

The manager is a looney toon. Wow that’s a filthy room. Second dirtiest room I’ve ever stayed in. (The dirtiest was in far east Malaysia on the island of Borneo in an ecolodge meant for exploring the jungle). I don’t mind when a hotel is a little beat down and worn, but you gotta keep it clean. Staff was of no help. I cleaned the room myself for about an hour on arrival, but still slept fully clothed cuz the room felt icky. Step 1: buy some cleaning supplies. Step 2: use them. Step 3: (optional) repeat 34 times Update: Management got in touch and were foolish and unprofessional. Avoid this place.
