Quality Inn Dayton North - Vandalia

Stayed for 4 nights at Quality Inn on Miller Lane. Upon entering the front desk was thorough and friendly. There is a $100 deposit which was high compared to other hotels I've been to. The room was what you would expect in a budget friendly hotel room as in amenities, including wifi, cable tv, coffee maker, fridge (actually larger than other hotels in comparison), and a microwave. I had plenty of linens, soaps etc... Everything was clean, neat and functioned as it should. Only thing I didn't understand is why the coffee pot was located in restroom but that quickly got changed. The room was nicer than others in comparison as for it didn't have that "budget friendly" musky scent! I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel and would not recommend staying here. During my stay, one of the rooms had water flooding issues, and because of that I was asked to give up my room to accommodate their situation so they could move another guest. Even after helping them out with their problem, the way the staff handled things afterward was very unprofessional. The carpet in the room smelled musty, like it had been wet for a long time, which made the room feel unsanitary. The biggest issue was at the front desk. I paid a $100 cash deposit, but the way the charges were handled felt dishonest. I had one extra person, and the notice posted at the front desk clearly states the charge is $10 for an extra guest. The staff were pleasant. The room was mostly clean. This hotel definitely needs some remodeling, repairs and updates. The breakfast was okay. They didn't have any protein options. It was a decent night's sleep at a reasonable price.

The location, service and rooms were not the issue as the room was a little dated but overall clean and fine; It was the entrance and hallways. The entrance looked uninviting and the hallways smells of cigarettes or cigars. The rugs in the hallway were very dated and worn. I think it there was some investment into the entrance way and hallway it would be a 4 out of 5. The person and overall staff were nice, friendly and responsive. I just can't give a better overall rating as these are the first things you see going to the room and initially made me doubt if I should stay or not. Please do the updates and you will be great.

If I could give this a zero I absolutely would this is the worst place I have ever stayed in my life time the manager is not great when we first got there, there was stains all over the bedding so we asked for new bedding. They just sat it in the room didn’t even change it for us which it’s fine it’s not like we are unable to do it and this isn’t even the worst part were changing it ourselves and there was big stains everywhere on the bed and just everywhere throughout the room. No idea what they were so the staff took us to two other rooms they were the exact same way they even said themselves that all of the beds are going to be like that and when we asked for the new bedding the manager said themselves that it was probably worst than the one that was already on the bed we couldn’t even
