Public House Hotel - Adirondacks

As others have posted, this hotel should not have been accepting reservations and welcoming guests. Once complete it may be lovely, but we had expected to receive the services the hotel indicated would be offered and the vast majority were not there. The rooms have a very strong smell of paint, the bathroom had construction dust and our room looked out onto a half frozen metal insert from a pull out couch. It was not like the pictures, but the room itself was warm and the beds were comfortable. They offered free cereals and fruits for breakfast which was a nice gesture, but the room with breakfast (and the public hallways) was freezing and didn’t have tables to sit and eat which meant eating in the room that had one tiny garbage bin and no cleaning service. Be warned that this is a construction project more than a hotel. There were no facilities available and no warning that they were all closed on Presidents Day weekend - no restaurant, no gym, no hot tub nor pools. Ongoing construction work meant that the floors of the rooms and hallways were dusty and had plaster on them. Still charged $400/night so poor value. There are no restaurants in the town within walking distance that serve dinner. Those we drove to were overloaded. And the locals pub over the road only takes cash. The Topps supermarket was a lifesaver. Not really a town for tourists using Gore Mountain - skiing was good though.
