Powder Horn Family Camping Resort

I stayed here the week of Labor Day because I had a weeding across the street at Dunegrass CC. The place is pretty big and extremely clean. The seasonal sites are pretty tight leaving wide open sites for us temporary campers. The staff is constantly on the move tending to the grounds. I like the proximity to the beach. You’re close enough but not too close avoiding the busy areas when not wanted. This is also a safe place for children to ride their bikes to and from all of the many amenities. The entry is also gated and secure. I would definitely book here again, and would highly recommend this location for families.

I did not get a lot of videos or pictures from this campground, but it is huge, very clean, very spacious. We absolutely loved our site the folks even called and asked if wabted to stay on the last night if the season as we were leaving a day before and they offered us 50 percent off. So many positives for this resort… Beautiful location, the staff is wonderful, kind, and friendly, events every weekend, clean facilities, and so much more. Look forward to returning in the future. The only thing that surprised us was the cost for an additional vehicle. When we originally make our reservation we were never told there was an extra cost for an additional vehicle, even though I told them that we have two. $18 a night was hard to justify, since we were working and a lot of times, our secondary vehicle would get there at 9 PM and be gone by seven or eight the next morning. Now we know and can work it into the budget however, I would definitely warn people if they had not been there before.

After over 50 yrs of camping in ME we feel like we finally found the perfect campground. With 4 large pools , hot tubs, playgrounds and more there was something to do every day ! The sites are large, level, well kept and arranged so it's a short walk to all polls and activities. It is located only a couple miles from downtown Old Orchard and there is a convenient inexpensive shuttle that runs every 10minutes throughout the day and late into the evening so you can avoid those expensive parking lots. Each section had immaculate washrooms and facilities and a large laundry building was located conveniently near the large pools so you could swim while your laundry was going. This was our second time staying at Powder Horn Family Camping Resort and it was great. We took our grandkids, and they had the time of their little lives. So much to do with the kids including kiddie pool. The sites we have stayed at have been clean and very well kept. I will definitely be making reservations for next year. We were also accompanied by 2 other camping families that had their own sites, and they agree with coming back as well. Such a great time.
