Poipu Kapili Resort

My husband and I stayed in Poipu Kapili #42 the last 2 weeks in October. The condo was clean, well furnished and quiet. The ocean view from the living area and lanai was amazing. The elevator was helpful for our luggage, otherwise the stairs were easy and the assigned parking spot was great. What was not great and why we will never stay in #42 again was the heat. The unit was hot, only cool in the morning. The portable AC in the bedroom only cools the bedroom. The cool air doesn’t flow out of the bedroom like we experienced in other similar setups. There was no significant air flow by opening the bedroom and lanai slider doors at opposite ends for air flow through the condo. We propped open the front door. Nope, still hot. The 2 floor fans and ceiling fans didn’t help, only moving hot air.

This resort is right off the water. There's a beach, whale watching site, and beautiful views of the mountains. The resort is well maintained. We were on the main floor where we had a patio and could right outside to the sites and there was an area to barbecue. I hope this review helps someone.

Great place to view sunrise and sunset. Access by gate near pool, walk across the road and down the short trail. Easy walking access to beach by Sheraton. Loved washer/dryer, kitchen with utensils. Could use a mattress topper or rolled cushion as extra bedding. Light sleeper beware since not very sound proof. Noise from upper floor especially kids running around.

The condo complex and location are very nice. We stayed in unit seven, which was a two bedroom. I would also say that that is a good location. However, the way the unit was represented and what our experience was while we were there were very different. ||Prior to arriving, I reached out to the parish staff to get some information on things to do locally and resources while we were staying there. The information they provided was out of date and not helpful at all. One of the things we asked for was a gym where we could go to use weights since there’s no gym at the condo complex and there was nothing available according to them. Then on our last day, we were at the koala shopping center for breakfast and there was a big sign for a strength training shop where you could just go in and pay

We were in the oceanfront units so I can only speak to those. Best view I’ve ever had in Hawaii. We usually stay in a resort but this was much better value and convenient. Fully stocked kitchen with everything we needed. It was great to make our own breakfast and not blow $50 on resort eggs. Pool was a bit sad and yes, people park across the street and play music which is kinda annoying but not a deal breaker.
