Kiahuna Plantation and the Beach Bungalows #154

Day one of 7 and right out the gate I'm gonna tell you folks to save your money and find a different place. The rooms are outdated which you could deal with but they are hot as hell and zero AC. The "ocean view" condo we were duped into getting, you need binoculars for the view. But the one amenity we were looking most forward too, the beautiful pool that's on the front page of the places website... You have to actually cross the main road which takes you to what feels more like a public pool with kids running free, unsupervised and probably pissing in the pool. I'm only giving it two stars at this point because I've only been here less than one day. Maybe it gets better but I don't see how it could.

AVOID! Deceptive practices make this a place to avoid. Thier hidden "cleaning fees" are charged once you arrive. Over $400 extra to clean the room without disclosing the charge is illegal. If you have been charged an unexpected fee at this hotel any time since May 12th of 2025 file an FTC complaint and a complaint with the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Comsumer affairs. You deserve your money back and accountability from the management.

Amazing location beautiful grounds you can walk onto a sandy swimmable beach Depending on time of day you can see surfers, boogie boarders or snorkeling. The pool across the road is great and you can access lots of shops nearby. There is also lots of walking paths to get in a daily stroll Staff are friendly All the units are individually owned so they can vary ours had a very Hawaiian feel We will be going back!

We stayed at an outrigger hotel on Maui last year and were expecting the same thing with this condo and we were completely fooled. I chatted with an online agent ahead of time to check if the units had air conditioning because it was t clear on the website. The agent assured me they do in fact have air conditioning. She was very wrong. Not only did it not have air conditioning but it did t even have glass windows to drown out noise. It’s hot and noisy in the condo. The ventilation was not great. They gave us a couple of box fans to help but then it was just noisy the whole time. The lights were dim. The bed’s extremely uncomfortable. The pillows were so bad I used my airplane U shaped pillow that provided better support. The towels for the beach are only once per day. If you want more th
