Kiahuna Plantation® & Beach Bungalows by Castle

Our stay late February 2026 was amazing! Front desk was responsive, the gym is outdoors and huge. The pool has a slide and although the jacuzzi didnt work half the time, we are happy with everything else. The restaurant across the street (where the pool & gym are located) was also nice.. we tried the shrimp tacos and they were pretty good, the drinks, not so much.

We enjoyed our stay in room 62 (building #11). Our unit happened to have A/C but we didn't really need it in January (probably essential in the summer months). Having a full kitchen is always a plus. The sofa bed was comfortable enough, however the mattress in the master bedroom was CHEAP and any movement would wake up my partner. Bathroom was adequate, plenty of hot water in the shower. Nice balcony to hang out, drink a beverage and listen to the birds. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. GREAT location, just a few minutes walk to Kiahuna Beach, where there's a hut nearby for borrowing towels and chairs. You can also take a pathway to get to Ko'a Kea resort, which has a lovely restaurant Red Salt. Walk a bit further and you'll find yourself at Po'ipu Beach, where there is some pret

We have stayed in this place multiple times, and have always liked it. This time was different. Getting up the first morning after a trip from Utah, we found a room with cockroaches. NOT a good start. We immediately called the front desk. We were not offered another room. They said they would send over pest control. They gave excuses of wet weather. We felt trapped because of airlines and finding someplace else. Had to deal with cockroaches in the room 2 more times during our stay. I explained to the desk that the $377 cleaning fee seemed ridiculous because the cockroaches would not be there if the room had been cleaned. We started paying very close attention to the room. We noticed it had not had needed upkeep and had a lot of very poor maintenance. We then found out there was no houseke

As a lot of the reviews note, this is a place that isn't entirely up-front with its guests about costs. I was one of the guests who was burned with hidden "cleaning" fees that weren't initially listed. By the time I saw them in booking through Agoda, it was too late, and neither the hotel nor Agoda were willing to do anything about it. Kauai is a beautiful island, there are better places to stay.

The room was decent but had no AC - yes, no AC. It was not suffocating at night thanks to the drafts but hello humidity and mosquitoes. The staff was unpleasant and unhelpful, doing everything begrudgingly. We had to pretty please them to keep our luggage for a few hours after we checked out - I'd never seen anything like that before. The room was pretty expensive due to hidden and risible "cleaning fees." The hotel is well located in Poipu, with access to a nice little beach, but it's not worth the price nor the drama.
