Koʻa Kea Resort on Poipu Beach

The hotel was comfortable and a great location close to a lot of good places to eat. The beach area is beautiful but small and convenient for exploring the south shore. |That said, the service was slow at times, and I was disappointed by the added parking charge that wasn't disclosed upfront. They advertise that paying up front is cheaper, but once you add parking and other expenses, it really wasn't. The room itself was very basic for the price, and overall, it felt expensive for what you get. If I had known about the extra costs before checking in, I probably would have stayed on the North Shore instead. Ko'a Kea is nice but be aware of the additional fees and the value compared to other options.

Positive: The chick-in agents were delightful, but the property and restaurant were disgusting. Negative: The mildew, mold, and bugs. This hotel poses a serious health risk.

Just back from a 7-day stay. The location is unparalleled, the scale/size is perfect: it had all they key amenities (including friendly, professional staff) without the vibe and feel of the institutional chain resorts. We dined twice at Red Salt for dinner which was excellent and once for breakfast which was fine but felt a bit over-priced. The room was lovely: good sized, a beautiful bathroom, well sound-proofed, balcony with a mesmerizing water view. Only complaint (as noted by others) is that mattress should be replaced. If we return to Kauai, we will be staying at Ko'a Kea.

This resort is phenomenal! The staff is above and beyond! I love the way they take care of every guest. They made our wedding and stay so amazing! We will be back and recommend them to everyone. Kyrsten behind the Red Salt bar, The girls behind the pool bar, the Valet and then Kele the surf instructor… so amazing and I can’t leave out Tracy … the manager who went above and beyond! Our home away from home. Room 244 is our jam!

My wife and I loved this property so much that we came back this year with a group of friends. It’s cozy and beautiful. We love how convenient everything the property has to offer is. Pool bar, pool, restaurant, parking, beach sports center…everything is so easily accessible. We love it.
