Pinehurst Motel

I have stayed twice while in the area. I hate to leave a bad review because Mr. Patel was very patient, very helpful and pleasant; however, the room we were in at first was decent. The second room appeared to be in the same shape until my body started to have a weird reaction to the room. I'm not sure if the room was not cleaned properly or the sheets were not as well, but my skin felt like it was on fire. Once I started cleaning room with my own supplies, I felt at ease. Glad to have somewhere to have Laid my head while traveling, regardless of the not so great last experience.

We stopped here on a long weekend, hoping to save some money vs. places like the Holiday Inn nearby, and to satisfy my curiosity about an older place. No regrets, and we likely saved at least enough to pay for dinner. I believe we paid $60 + tax for a king.|||| The motel has been around for a long time, probably since the '40s. The rooms were clean, and while I wouldn't call the decor new, it wasn't ancient. Unaccountably, my wife, who often barely disguises her dislike of the older motels, was charmed by the quirky decorating. (Our room had a red glass lantern, a New Orleans travel poster, and some old promotional photos of a local '60s steakhouse.) It looks a bit run down from the outside, however, we had a nice welcome, staff were helpful and the room was clean. The wallpaper was a bit of a shock, not to everyone's taste for sure, but provided a talking point! Internet access, TV, hot showers, fridge, very comfortable beds - and very clean. Yes - we would stay there again, no problem. No coffee in the room but there is a gas station/garage next door which serves good coffee!

We pulled in to Covington on the way to White Sulfur Springs for a tour the next day. We were impressed with the check in service. Room was comfortable as beds better than a sleep inn we stayed at earlier in week. Shower was hot and good pressure. I loved the vent and heater in there. 5 stars for that alone. Carpet clean. Sheets were nice design and no stains anywhere. Large TV and plenty of plug ins. Micro/Fridge/Chair/Iron Board.

Our high school baseball team stays at the Pinehurst every year. This is a real mom and pop shop with the same friendly faces for years. The owner has run chain motels and small ones so he knows how to keep the customer happy. The Internet access is lightning fast and the rooms and beds are clean. It has a 70s feel. With the money we save we are able to go to a couple meals for the team.
