Pier Blue Inn

I had some issues with my initial booking experience that were entirely of my own fault. The staff were incredibly helpful in getting the issues sorted and ensuring my stay was possible.||For my stay, the hotel was perfect. It was clean, comfortable and a wonderful experience overall.||I would highly recommend that if you chose to stay here that you also visit the restaraunt next door called the Himalaya Cafe for lovely Indian cuisine. ||I did enjoy my stay here and should I be in this area again, I would absolutely consider this location again.

BEWARE. If you want to be swindled, reserve a stay here. Unscrupulous. The place is hiding behind MULTIPLE online booking companies who unknowingly are posting pretty rooms that do not exist. Understand this when you make a reservation: the rooms pictured online have nothing to do with reality at Pier Blue Inn. We booked for 3 nights but never stayed once we saw the condition of the room. A corner first floor room. Uncarpeted. Dated and dank. Curtains do not cover the length of the windows which are wide open to the parking lot. If you can see out, anyone can see in. We were able to cancel one night, but were still responsible for two because we "agreed" to the 24 hour cancellation policy through the online reservation. This is a very tired property. We stayed in room 107. The floor was so sticky and filthy that our socks became black. The bathroom was covered in hair. The microwave is inches from the only sink. The furniture, doors, trim, etc show excessive wear and dirt. The noise from the rooms above made sleep impossible. The mold/musty odor is strong and seriously agitates any existing allergies. The only reason I would stay here is if I brought my dog, and honestly, the dog deserves better.

My wife and I recently spent five days vacationing in Old Saybrook. Not being a big fan of corporate hotels with their overpriced rooms and marginal service we opted to stay at the family owned/operated Pier Blue Inn. Check in was quick and easy. Because it was off season, the front desk manager gave us a free upgrade to a King Room which we found exceptional clean and comfortable. The Inn was located near all the places we had planned to visit along with many excellent restaurants. The attentive staff couldn't do enough to help make our visit more pleasurable. Well done Blue Pier! You've got a repeat customer on our next visit. Looking forward to seeing you all again. Thanks!

The owners are the nicest people!|We asked to see a room first. Wanted a quiet room on the highest floor facing the grounds. |Very quiet.|The room was very clean which is very important!|The price is extremely reasonable for the price. |The gentleman at the front desk was very kind. |We had a couple of issues with the door lock, however, the owner was right there to assist us before we could go to the front desk!|We will definitely return , hopefully soon. |I recommend the Pier Blue Inn if you’re looking for a quiet, clean reasonable place to stay. |The grounds are so lovely with beautiful plants, tables and picnic tables. |We ate our breakfast on a picnic table overlooking the pond area.
