Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Old Saybrook - Westbrook

Front desk "Happy" was courteous and even called us asking what time to expect us. Rooms were ok for the price- old hotel with some modest renos. Our room smelled ok and was clean as were the sheets. Breakfast was very disappointing - grab and go equaled "make your own waffles" and coffee.

Rooms are clean and nice size for 2 beds. Looks like the pictures on site. Pictures for there breakfast bar DOES Not. Coffee n juice machine and waffle machine is all your getting. Was told at checking the times it will be opened and there be eggs, waffles, muffins etc….. maybe someone over slept , lol. Any who , Easy parking . Staff is warm and friendly . We chose this place because it was 8 min drive to go to the Terror Train attraction, we bought night tickets. Half hour to our next destination the next day. It was perfect for what we needed. I would stay there again.

10 nights here... Perfectly clean, staff very friendly, especially the room cleaner's and the receptionist who, along with her husband went over the top to help be get a Uber when my phone went crazy ! Very peaceful, which encourages a great night sleep. And free Coffee, what more could I want 😃 Would definitely stay here again !

So many reasons not to stay there. The only positive thing to say is that the people that work there are very friendly! The hotel is one of those places that you have to wipe everything down despite the fact it's not for COVID reasons - it smells of POT throughout the place and there is some type of cleaning product they use that smells like crap! The place is so old and threadbare - the sheets on the bed were paper thing and I am happy I brought my own bedding as their bedding was scary! The amenities were all there but just old - for example, the plug next to the bed worked although it was coming off the wall, the hairdryer in the bath has been there since the beginning of time and I am surprised it still works - the shower tile was obviously updated - in 1980 - and is dark and dingy

I normally do not write reviews. However, this location just saved me during the blizzard. Single mom with 2 dogs, travelling?! IFYKYK On top of that, i got my rental SUV stuck on ice and they helped a lot getting it moved......I am thankful and grateful for them.
