Oveson's Pelican Lake Resort & Inn

It was a decent place to stay, quiet and clean. The front desk staff was Very accommodating. We were pretty bummed that the pool area wasn't open, but it wasn't the end of the world. It just would have been nice to know beforehand :) decent little continental breakfast, it did its job. The restaurant also wasnt ooen due to the owners not being in town. Its not a resort from our perspective, just a nice quiet little hotel.

Not terrible, not great. We stayed three nights total. The term "resort" in Northern MN seems to just mean "hotel with water access" so that's important to know. ||We didn't have high expectations---just a clean hotel with a good night's sleep and proper facilities. ||Unfortunately, this hotel didn't have enough hot water for guests in the morning (or sometimes evening). That's not acceptable. When we tried to ask staff about it they were nowhere to be found. ||The room was clean. The place was quiet. Staff was fairly friendly (though often absent). Breakfast is very bare bones, even for a continental breakfast. Rooms are outdated but completely comfortable. WiFi worked fine.

The rooms were clean. Beds were hard. Continental breakfast consisted of cinnamon rolls, frozen waffles and English muffins; microwave oatmeal, cereal, juice and regular coffee. The only low-carb option was extremely hard to peel cold hard-boiled eggs. Pool and hot tub closed as “it’s hard to find help”. Should have researched further so my own fault, but just letting people know to ask before booking if these are things that are important to you! And bar and grill - nope!

Receptionist told us our room was at the end of the building. So, we should enter from that entrance. The card key works, but, the door handle was broken off. The door can't be open from the outside. We had to finally enter from the front after reloading our luggage into the car. When we left two days later, that door was still not fix.

False advertising with the pool, sauna and hot tub. Big sign as you pull in that they have all three, upon checking in was told pool has been closed for years!!! Room is very outdated and old... beds are in bad shape. Bathroom was not clean just surface wiped.
